The Department of Education (DepEd) intends to release the adjusted school calendar soon to coincide with class opening on October 5 after it was postponed last August 24 due to COVID-19 pandemic.
DepEd undersecretary Diosdado San Antonio said several school activities that are scheduled annually have already been postponed.
San Antonio said Christmas vacation for this year will be from December 20 to January 3, 2021.
DepEd also announced that June 16, 2021 as the tentative date for the last day of classes. DepEd needs to abide by the law requiring the number of school days to at least 200 days per year.
Some private schools already opened classes this month on the condition that there are no face-to-face classes and follows all safety protocols mandated by the Department of Health.
